Monetize Their Creative Content
MEMPHIS, TN – On Location: MEMPHIS (OL:M) announces its new vision which includes a new logo and a new website. OLM International Film and Music Festival has evolved into two distinct economic drivers, the OL:M Film Market and the Memphis Music Banq (MMB). Both were developed to help filmmakers and music creators monetize their creative content.
The new programs of OL:M are assets and companion pieces to every film and music organization in the region. Over the last three years, OL:M has researched and received feedback from the creative community to identify ways to monetize their film and music content.
One of the most recent success stories includes MMB producer, Kirk Smith, who was contracted to score the film “Coming to Africa” by Memphis filmmaker Anwar Jamison. Jamison attended the October 2019, MMB Mixer Competition. Smith was among the MMB Producers competing that evening. The Mixer Competition allows producers in the MMB to put their talent on display.
“The primary purpose of the MMB Mixers is to create a relaxed atmosphere where film and music creatives can meet each other and develop business relationships”, said OL:M Executive Director Angela D. Green, Esq. “The ‘Coming to Africa’ project is an example of what can happen when preparation meets opportunity.”
The OL:M Film Market is unlike any other film festival. It is a film ecosystem built for filmmakers to position their projects to generate revenue and find distribution. Submissions will open May 1, 2020, on FilmFreeway.com.
“With the movie industry on the path toward digital streaming as a prominent form of distribution, OL:M Film Market is strategically positioning itself to aid local, national and global independent filmmakers in monetizing their creative content,” said OL:M Creative Liaison Christie Taylor.
